I’m not saying I blame them but there is a bigger question.
I am now going to ask a question that I don’t know the answer to. (I realize that is why you ask questions but sometimes you sort of know the answer or can pretend you do BUT for this question I got nothin’.)
Cruz (the murderer kid) lost both of his adoptive parents. Who was his growth and development supposed to fall back onto the shoulders of? The real parents? The state? Another named or chosen individual after the adoptive parents died – or should someone have been chosen beforehand?
We have to choose an answer for this missing element.
It’s not for the reason to Blame and Punish: We really don’t want to ever have to do that.
It is so that the child in question gets the opportunity to be loved, raised, and guided into adulthood properly.
