The COVID-19 time of our lives threw us all for a loop. Some of us didn’t make it through – some of us still may not.
I’ve got no words of wisdom for what happened and I’m not going to make any jokes about what may still happen. I have no idea how to get through any of this except to keep on living. Keep on living the way you want to . . . sort of.
I, and my immediate family, chose to wear masks and stay inside as much as possible. If you chose not to do that . . . that’s on you. Whatever. I just don’t want you getting me sick but then I guess that’s back on me. Whether you believe in the virus or not – that’s also on you . . . and I guess back on me, again.
I am not even certain I have a right to say you should listen to me about raising your children correctly or getting punished for what they do wrong . . . but . . . but, I sort of do. The reason? My children don’t kill anybody. On the other hand – none of my family gave anyone the coronavirus either.
MY THOUGHTS: Okay, here we go . . .
If my children kill anyone and it was a criminal act – I should get punished alongside them: I should go through Re-Association with them. (What is Re-Association? Read the book.) Fine: What about COVID-19?
My thoughts on that are a little different (but not really): If you, or someone because of you, catch COVID – AND YOU DON’T WEAR A MASK OR DON’T SOCIAL DISTANCE . . . you pay your own medical bills, insurance won’t cover you. How will we know if you did wrong? At all times we should have been giving out tickets and getting photos and taking identification of people who didn’t follow the rules (if there were rules where you lived). I proposed this to the governor of the State of Illinois but I guess he thought it was too draconian.
In any case, what this comes down to through my brain is people being responsible for what they do in life . . . and that starts with BEING RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CHILD YOU MAKE!
I know COVID isn’t over yet but I think we can start a discussion on other ways to die in the near future so I open our Blame and Punish conversation for you to join.
In the meantime, “Be safe.” (And that really doesn’t just mean from a virus.)
