Hey Turner (and some other parents), “I can’t write, without getting arrested, what I’d like to see happen to you!“
Kelly Renee Turner, a mother from Colorado, was arrested on charges of murdering her daughter, Olivia Gant. She had been saying that her daughter was terminally ill and collecting money for her and she even got the Make-A-Wish Foundation to give her dream to her. The mother had been giving the girl drugs to make her ill and in the end, gave her the drugs that finished her off to end her life . . . allegedly.
The above paragraph says anything that needs to be said but hits very close to home. Not in the way you might think but as such:
In our book (Blame and Punish), I ask the question of whether a parent should be forced to keep their child if they choose not to want them (I DID NOT ANSWER THE QUESTION!). There is a difference in keeping a child (e.g., by not having an abortion) or taking its life after it is born (I am NOT going to get into the abortion debate here – that is the reason we have a Forum).
However, (allegedly) this Turner woman KILLED her child while enriching herself. This then forces us to raise the question of where the father of the child was/is and where the parents of this Turner woman are (and makes us wonder how the parents of this Turner woman ever let her leave their home if they were raising her incorrectly!).
